A Rapid Development Framework for Microsoft Access

2026 has arrived! Wow, I never got used to it being 2025. So here we are at the beginning of a new year which many people view as a new start or the beginning of a new cycle.

For me, it’s important to review my goals from the prior year.

What did I accomplish? What did I not accomplish? Did the goals I met actually take me to the place I wanted to be?

Why didn’t I accomplish the goals I missed? Are they still important? Did any priorities get changed or do they need to be changed?

This helps me move forward into the coming year with a set of fresh goals. To really achieve anything, I find I need to keep these goals in front of me throughout the year. I use a system I learned from the book Traction by Gino Wickman. Among other things, it helps set out a process of setting 10 year goals, breaking it down into a 3 year picture, a 1 year picture, then what you need to accomplish in the next 3 months to stay on track with 1 year picture, and finally a weekly review and setting Todos each week to move you to accomplish those 3 month goals.

The book describes a system (called EOS [Entrepreneurial Operating System]) for a business to keep the business healthy and running smoothly. I’ve recognized that it helps on a personal level as well.

So it’s time to note to myself that I’ve been off track from remembering and trying to achieve my goals. Perhaps my attempts last year were a bit too lofty because I feel like I crashed and burned.

However, each morning is new and it’s high time to reset. What are you planning for the year and have you found a method to help you achieve your goals?
